Clan Changes

One of the issues of leading a clan is finding the time to actually participate in the playing aspect of Populous. I don't have the time to play anywhere near as often as 2 years ago and in some aspects, it's a mistake to judge players when you're not even apart of the game itself anymore. I've been out of the game for so long that it's time to alter the clan in a way that would be beneficial to the community and not the clan itself. TLL was never meant to be a top of the line clan, so in this value I'm going to make a couple big changes to the TLL clan again.

Change 1: TLL will be an open clan to all players. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you wear the tag. I don't care if you apply or ask for permission to join. TLL will now be open to all players and u can join with any skill levels without any vote system or recruitment process. I just don't care. If you can't speak English very well, there may be problems.

Change 2:<...

TLL will now be open to all players and u can join with any skill levels without any vote system or recruitment process. I just don't care. If you can't speak English very well, there may be problems.

Change 2: I want to change TLL into an informative clan site. Some of what I offered to the members I'll make available to anyone. Clan history can be an informative section about each clan's history, not that too many people care already anyway and they can find the history on the respective clan's site. Player history can be a summary of what each player's history here at Populous includes. It's not limited to members anymore. If you want to take a couple of minutes to type something up, go for it and send it to me. I ll add it into the website so players can get a grasp on who it is that actually keeps Populous alive, not just for new players but for everyone.

Change 3: I'm going to create a new section for Tips and Tricks. There will be tricks that are explained in great detail including what they are good for and how to best use them. I will also create videos on how to properly do the glitches and with or without voice idk. I will of course, explain what I am doing in the video.

Change 4: Another plan is to add a section dedicated to training videos. Links will be provided to the youtube videos and I will not be able to embed the video into the website as of yet. I will create a youtube account specific to Populous where any submitted training videos can be found on that account. (I think I already have an account for Populous but unsure).

Change 5: I would like to implement my own Links page on here as well. A nice centralized location to finding anything and everything in 1 convenient place.

Change 6: I'm also going to do away with the member list. It's pretty pointless considering there is already a memberlist on PopRe.net. The only unique piece about the memberlist is the not so descriptive information about a player. Not really a needed thing. I'm also going to edit the recruitment policy to give detail about joining to help update the website among other possible information I may include. Forums will be altered to how they were back when TLL wasn't a clan. They'll be open for players to mostly request updates, request downloads or offer assistance. Any other information is really pointless.

One of the most accessed parts of this website is the downloads. There are some downloads here that are difficult to find elsewhere and can be very useful to the Populous community. My plan is to incorporate all of the main programs here. The trick is that UCoZ site offers more space for the more users who access here. When I began, I had 400mb to play with and now, after a few months I have 422 mb to play with. It isn't too much more than before but it evidence to support a growing website.

Over the next couple weeks, these changes will be included into the website and things will begin to be different.

On a side note:

I've added PopEnhance, Symmetry Tool and MP Monitor to the download's section. Users can now rate downloads and pictures. Users can still comment on news and other information on the site where applicable. I encourage you to take advantage of this.

May 2012

There hasn't been very much activity with TLL at this time. Many players are busy right now with school and work. Although the clan seems very inactive, some players are keeping the TLL banner alive. PK, when that cunt isn't banned, has been seen actively participating in games. Aside from the occasional game, he too is busy with life. Overall, the clan is at a stand still, moving no where quick. On the contrary to this, the downloads page is getting alot of views and downloads.

In regards to players, Ragnaroek was removed from TLL due to cheating. Ragnaroek appears to be a fake account of Paradise with 40 matches ending all in favor to Paradise each marked at about 10 minutes into game. This is a prime example as to why the Truskill League can be too flexible and how the old league system was better.

Other News to Include:

Brandan has finished his Populous Constant Changer Program, which is now downloadable on p...

I will upload the final version to the download's page when Brandan has fully finished this product. A huge thanks to Brandan for creating this for users to enjoy the hacking aspect of Populous.

Something that may be of interest is the ability to edit Populous's Game Mechanics. With this program you can edit the amount of damage a spell can do, increase the respawn rate and other aspects that were previously unexplored with simple alterations with the constant file by manual input. Now it's all easy to use with Brandan's simple to use program. Give the download a try and see what you can create! ;)

Finally

I've been playing browser games to pass the time. I don't know how many of you are interested in browser games, but if you're a fan of the Command and Conquer games, but more specifically Tiberium series, you might want to invest a little time into EA's Tiberium Alliances Beta Release found here.

The game doesn't play the same way the discs do when you've installed the full game. This game here runs in your browser and simplifies the original series for massive multiplayer fun. We're reluctant to have a recent update where they have allowed a chat system because previously it was all done through forum. Like all browser war games, you can build your base, expand your military, fight for key points, build alliances and war. There's alot of possible research and plenty of upgrades. There are some unique features to this game you won't find in others.

Right now, the game is in open beta testing. They've released a few servers for up to 25k users each. There's alot of popularity for this game because it's new. Also, don't forget that you can play as either GDI or NOD, however, NOD is currently not added into the game as of yet. The war itself works similar to rock smashes scissors, scissors cuts paper and paper covers rock with the addition that each Infantry, Vehicle and Air Vehicle has key strengths. These key strengths dictate the strategy of your game. Interested? Check it out

New in April

After another month is quickly written in TLL history, 3 more members have quit. This time HuGZ, Vampire and Midori all abandoned the cause. Unfortunately for them, they will not be missed. We've now brought Lionheart back into the TLL way. We welcome our newest addition with great pride and ask that he don't just get the fuck up and leave like some people.

Aside from the members, I've also brought a better forum to the clan. Using the old TLL forum from 2009-2010, I've cleared all the content and began fresh. This will be our permanent forum for the time being. There have been a large number of problems with using this website, some of which have restricted players for days and days at a time. I will continue using this website to update TLL.

Although TLL hasn't had very many members, don't let that fool you.
New this Month - February

This month was a milestone for TLL. The biggest part of a clan is the first step to becoming one. We did that this month. With a vote which finished in 12 hours (from the time Inca began it to the time it finished) I feel like I should thank all the players involved with that. Thank you all. On a good reflection of the past 20 days so far, we've maintained an active member-base and activity on our forum. The website is still being updated and more and more content will be added as players come and go.

This month's promotions, recruits and members

Flame - Admin

Midori - Admin

Converse - Admin

Fonsi - Admin

Ragnaroek - Member

HuGZ - Member

EndofEverything - Member

KingofSpies - Member

DeadlyDreamer - Member

Ttamylno - Recruit

Alcatraz - Recruit

This month's Clan Hoppers

Shadow

Anthrax
<di...

Recently discussed on PopRe, in an on-going discussion, the community is trying to determine if we should give players the right to alter the settings of Populous for multiplayer use. The idea behind this, originally created by TedTycoon but brought back up by Lemonlure, is to alter the settings of the game. Some of these settings include; Spell Cast Range, Duration, Mana Cost, Mana Rate per Unit, Unit Health, Unit Speed, Building Health, Wood Regrowth Rate, Tree Capacity, Troop Training Capacity and much more to alter.

Tedtycoon originally introduced Popenhance, a program used to alter Populous after launching.
Officially a PopRe clan!

Today, after about 12+ hours of waiting our partially created clan had become a clan! I'd like to thank all of the PopRe community for the speedy votes cast in our favor and the players who also enjoy TLL's company. I really appreciate the quick service provided for us this time around.

On to more pressing matters. TLL will now maintain it's Application/Recruitment policy. All content is subject to change at any time so please be aware if you are in the middle of becoming a member and we decide to change the recruitment process to something we see as better. If anything is to change, it will happen in the new few days to a week.

The Last Legion Returns

Guess what? It's the year 2012 and in December we all die anyway, well just most of you. This has nothing to do with TLL, but hey, it's returning and the clan is now officially under construction even though I already had this site created for about a week now. The plan here is to build this website into a nicely designed, constructed and informative piece of art.
Guess what? It's the year 2012 and in December we all die anyway, well just most of you. This has nothing to do with TLL, but hey, it's returning and the clan is now officially under construction even though I already had this site created for about a week now. The plan here is to build this website into a nicely designed, constructed and informative piece of art. I'm proud to show off another new free website constructing website and my talents of laziness.

The goal here is to inject more excitement into the PopRe community. My previous TLL experiences created tons of hostility among players and hopefully through this clan we can get more and more players to reduce the gap between these players who only play good vs good and bad vs bad. With the coming update to the MM, map testing will be much more easy too. The Legion Worlds that I was creating will finally get tested by players who are lazy but more constructive than a retard. This project will be added to news at a later time.

For now, enjoy the new website and when the time comes, enjoy the revived competition. ;)
